My heart was pounding in my chest as I took slow steps inside the abandoned house. I knew how to fight almost ten strong men, but what if they were more, or what if they had more weapons?

I clutched the revolver in my hand tightly, sweat forming in my palms. None of my men were with me, there was nothing else that I could fight with except my revolver.

And I also knew that the men here would underestimate me because I'm a woman, and I should use their misunderstanding to win.

The dead leaves which lay on the dusty, cemented floor, crunched under my shoe, and it was the only sound that I could hear.

If she was here, I should have heard the cries of a little girl, or some men shouting at her.

But all I could listen to was silence.

I was startled by the sudden sounds of footsteps, as multiple men came rushing down the stairs of the house. They didn't have any weapons, and I had a chance.

A hope that I can fight.Ā

"Who are you?" One of them growled, taking steps towards me.

I can just shoot him and finish it here, but I can't waste my bullets, because there are high chances more men are up there, around her.

The man neared me slowly, staring at me with lust filled eyes.

The thought of these men looking at that little girl with these eyes disgusted my soul.

Once he was close enough, I raised my right leg up and kicked him on his crotch, causing him to stumble and fall on his knees.

I kicked on his face next and pierced my heel in his left eye, his loud screams echoing in the unfurnished, abandoned house.

More men came rushing down the stairs as they walked towards me at a faster pace while I started shooting them with my revolver, kicking and punching some of them to make them stumble and back off.

I ran upstairs, looking at the multiple rooms, hearing footsteps behind me.

I turned around and shot the remaining men, loading my revolver hesitantly.

Silence fell in the house once again when I realised I had killed all of them, including the one who I kicked in the crotch first.

I focused on any other sounds that I could hear in my surroundings, and that was when I heard soft whimpering from a room.

I rushed inside the room and saw her tied to a chair, her mouth stuffed with a bob, tears rolling down her cheeks.

I walked towards her rapidly and bent down to untie her, removing the bob from her mouth.

She stood up and immediately wrapped her small arms around my neck, her voice breaking due to her constant sobbing, "S-sunshinie?"

My heart clenched listening to her calling out my nickname she always calls me, while I broke the hug and wiped her tears.

"Mish, let's get out of this place first, okay? You're safe now," I consoled her, while she nodded slowly.

I stood up, holding her up in my arms and began walking down the stairs, covering her eyes with my palm so that she doesn't see the dead bodies of those men.

I rushed outside to where my car was parked, and saw two more cars getting parked just next to mine.

A few men got out of one car, while my heart thumped in my chest again.

The passenger seat's door of the second car opened, while Nishkarsh Singhania got off, looking at me and his little daughter.

I bent down and let her run to her father, while a woman, probably her caretaker, walked towards her, taking her inside one of the cars.

I was breathing heavily all this time, my heart still beating rapidly inside my chest.

He walked towards me with slow steps, something I didn't expect him to do.

He didn't take a proper look at his daughter, and he will probably now think I was the one who got his daughter kidnapped.

"Take care of her," I mumbled slowly, before walking past him to go to my own car.

I stopped when I felt his strong hand holding my wrist, pulling me back in front of him.

"Who was with you?" He asked gruffly, while I raised my eyebrows.

"What do you mean? I was alone."

"You saved her alone? Without any men?" He asked, slight shock lacing his tone.

I nodded again in response, while he closed his eyes for a split second, sighing deeply.

"What if something happened to you as well?"

"I think you should better forget your what ifs and be thankful that your daughter is-"

My words were cut off when he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him, smashing his lips on mine, in a rough kiss.

I pressed both my palms against his chest to push him away, but he didn't seem bothered at all from my efforts.

He claimed my lips as if they were his property, his tongue moving in my mouth, probably taking all the taste of my wine.

He broke the kiss after what felt like a minute, and turned around to walk away towards his car, leaving me standing dumbfounded.

✧

I closed my eyes tightly, my breath coming out ragged and uneven. He was standing right in front of me, towering my figure and playing games with my hormones through his unpredictable actions.

"Who are we, baby?" He whispered, and I could feel his lips really close to my ear, his breath fanning over my face.

"R-rivals," I whispered back, a shiver running down my spine at the sound of my own voice in front of him. I should stand confidently facing him, shouting on his face.

But here I am, standing vulnerably in front of him, my legs shaking, my knees getting so weak that I may lose my balance soon.

He chuckled darkly at my response, capturing my neck in his single hand, his grip tighter than necessary.

I opened my eyes, tears of hatred brimming in the corners of my eyes, and I stared back into his deep dark brown eyes looking directly into my soul.

I choked a percent on my breath due to his tight grip on my neck. His hand was so large compared to my neck that he could easily break my neck apart with a single twist of his hand.

I was really small in front of his huge muscular body, but I felt even tinier at the moment.

Completely at his mercy.

"Rivals, are we, little one?" He asked, his lips hovering right over mine.

"I hate y-you. You're my enemy!" I managed to speak out, feeling his grip tightening more.

"Enemy?" He asked, a small smirk framing his lips.

"Say that again, and I'll make sure you will never be able to say a single word."

"You're my enemy! My rival, and- ahh-"

He bit my lower lip before giving a sign or a warning, making me close my eyes tightly once again, the pain in my lower lip so intolerable that I had to grip his shoulders tightly.

I pushed him with all my force but he didn't budge, neither did he loosen his grip on my neck.

Please, God. Save me from this monster.

I'll make sure I kick him in the ass next time with power.

He continued kissing me passionately, giving me a taste of his cigarette he smoked probably a while ago.

My heels clinked against the wooden tiles of his office.

His office, yes.

I came here to his company to expose his dark secret of the underworld to all the people here. To tell his employees that their boss is nothing but a mafia, but God had the worst plans for me today.

"Daddy?"

He slowly parted from the kiss, while I was startled when I heard that soft voice.

He took a step back while I wiped his saliva off my lips and caressed my paining lower lip slowly.

The door of his office opened and his daughter walked in. He smirked at me for one last time before turning his face towards his daughter.Ā

I ignored them both and walked outside the office, my lower lip on the verge of getting swollen.
